Foster the People will play a free and open to the public show on Friday, March 14th at the Butler Park Stage at Lady Bird Lake.
Shows at the Butler Park Stage at Lady Bird Lake are open to SXSW registrants, wristband holders, and the general public with free Guest Passes, available in advance or on-site at the event.

The 2014 MTVu Woodie Awards will take place Thursday, March 13 in Austin, Texas during the SXSW Music Festival, and Childish Gambino is the first performer to be announced on the event’s lineup. The 30-year-old rapper is fresh off the success of his sophomore album Because the Internet, which garnered critical and commercial acclaim in 2013. Gambino is also nominated in the “Did It My Way Woodie” category. His competition in the category includes Kanye West, Beyoncé, Arcade Fire, and Bob Dylan.
The MTVu Woodie Awards is always free, but wristbands and badges do get priority entrance. MTVu have not announced the ticket pick-up location yet, but it has always been somewhere inside the convention center. Either day of the event or a day before.
Vic Mensa is about to make his own mark. Mensa released his break-out solo mixtape, Innanetape, in September of last year, only months after the demise of his band Kids These Days.
Bleachers with Jack Antonoff, is new Band fronted by F.U.N. and they’ll be making their debut at the mtvU Woodie awards.
A televised version of the MTVu Woodie Awards will premiere on MTV on Sunday, March 16 at 8 p.m. (EST). Past performers include N.E.R.D., Lupe Fiasco, Vampire Weekend, Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, and Mac Miller.
More acts will be announced later on through out the week.
Are you a Foodie or Boozer? If you are a SXSW veteran then I already know your answer! But if you are a virgin to the SXSW festivities, there are guaranteed things that will happen during the 2 weeks of fun! fun! fun!
1) You will at least gain 5lbs from all the free food.
2) You will at least gain 10lbs from all the free booze. But if you party right, you will end up barfing it all up by the end of night.
3) You will get so much free swag. You can finally make your dream come true by starting your own ebay store.
4) Yes you will see celebrities but will they see you? Probably not unless you’re the one who’s writing the zeros on the checks. Except for Kanye and Snoop Lion all you need to do is throw some 420 on stage and you automatically get bumped up to VIP status. Not saying that will get you backstage but you get noticed!
5) The most important thing to know….don’t let your friends spoil your SXSW, if they cant get into a party and you can; throw up the peace sign and tell them that you’ll meet up with them later.
All in all this will be another great year! Tech week is always awesome, so awesome you definitely should rsvp to these events.

I’m pretty sure everyone knows what “Sunday Funday ” is but just in case you dont. Sunday Funday : is an excuse to give people an excuse to drink before noon on Sunday. Haha well…thats the way I see it. Lets check the first Sunday Funday hot spot.
Nomad has one of best undiscovered Sunday brunches in Austin. Nomads has $10 unlimited Mimosas til 3p.m. every Sunday. Nomads also a $14 all you can buffet cooked by a private chef. The chef cooks his omelets, pancakes and waffles to order.
