Today is the first Thursday of May and there is a lot to do! I don’t know about other cities, but first Thursday’s in Austin, is celebrated like an Holiday! Here’s whats going on today! If you’ve never been to South Congress on a First Thursday, then you are really missing out. It is seriously like a festival of fun, food, art, and definitely a good time! It is basically like one big block party, and it is perfect for all ages. On the first Thursday of each month, all of the stores along South Congress that normally close early stay open late (most stay open until 10 p.m., but some later). Some of the stores have special sales and give out free drinks on these nights. Some of the restaurants and bars have drink specials.

I love eating at Guero’s, especially the month of my Birthday because my food is free! That’s right go to Guero’s in the month of your Birthday and they will give you a free taco plate. They awesome have an awesome Happy hour! I love their Tamales, which is only .25 cents!  Since today is First Thursday, they are going to have live music in their Oak Garden!
